Beebe has been the home to some relatively famous statewide celebrities.
Former University of Arkansas quarterback Barry Lunney, Jr. was a junior high student at Beebe while his father, Barry Lunney, Sr., was head football coach at Beebe High School ( 1987 – 1988 ).
Mel Hanks, a longtime reporter at Little Rock's KARK-TV, who was known for his investigative reporting, lived in Beebe at one time with his wife and son.
Jan Hines Faubus, former wife of controversial Arkansas governor Orval Faubus, was raised and educated in Beebe.
John Adams, who attended and played basketball at Beebe High School, and in 1941, was a member of the Arkansas Razorbacks Final Four team, is credited by some as being the inventor of the jump shot.
