In terms of State Road 45 ( SR 45 ) and State Road 46 ( SR 46 ) they currently run as one road through Bloomington as a two-lane highway.

However, a major 3. 1 mile construction project ( with the first 1. 8 miles already complete ) is in its late stages and will upgrade the road to a 4-6 lane highway through Bloomington and the center of the Indiana University Campus.

This project has a tentative completion date of December 2012.
