At the same time a new style of electronic music emerging in the early 2000s, influenced heavily by hip hop and UK garage.

The new genre was dubbed grime ( sometimes called eskibeat or sublow ).

Notable grime acts include Dizzee Rascal, Bashy, Wiley, Skepta, Sway DaSafo, Ghetto, M. A., Kano and Giggs.
