Previous air carriers include American Eagle, Hughes Airwest, Reno Air Express, Pacific Express and WestAir operating as United Express.
Hughes Airwest ( which previously operated as Air West ) flew Douglas DC-9 jetliners from Chico while Pacific Express operated British Aircraft Corp. BAC One-Eleven jets from the airport.
Both airlines provided jet service to San Francisco with Hughes Airwest also providing direct, no change of plane jet service to Los Angeles and other destinations.
Pacific Express provided direct, no change of plane jet service to Portland, Oregon, Santa Barbara, Bakersfield and other destinations from Chico in addition to their primary route to San Francisco.
American Eagle, Reno Air Express and WestAir all operated smaller turboprop commuter aircraft.
Chico is currently served by SkyWest Airlines operating as United Express with Embraer EMB-120 " Brasilia " turboprop flights to San Francisco.
