Creation is seen as an act of divine choice and mercy, one with a grand purpose: " And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in play.

" Rather, the purpose of humanity is to be tested: " Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed.

And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving ;" Those who pass the test are rewarded with Paradise: " Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of ( the heart's ) desires ;"
