Since then it has also pioneered various forms of electronic dance music including dubstep, acid house, drum and bass and trip hop, all of which were in whole or part developed in the United Kingdom.

Acclaimed British dance acts include The Prodigy, Massive Attack, Underworld, Orbital, Jamiroquai, Basement Jaxx, The Chemical Brothers, Portishead, Faithless, The KLF, Goldfrapp, Aphex Twin and Fatboy Slim.
