If any boy produces an outstanding piece of work, it may be " Sent Up For Good ", storing the effort in the College Archives for posterity.

This award has been around since the 18th century.

As Sending Up For Good is fairly infrequent, the process is rather mysterious to many of Eton's boys.

First, the master wishing to Send Up For Good must gain the permission of the relevant Head of Department.

Upon receiving his or her approval, the piece of work will be marked with Sent Up For Good and the student will receive a card to be signed by House Master, tutor and division master.
