There have been crossover episodes which take place before their series had debuted.

One example can be found in the Singaporean sitcom Living with Lydia, where the titular character ( played by Lydia Shum ) recalls coming to Singapore in 1979 to be a " Singapore Girl.

" But thanks to a mistake at a nightclub, she hooks up with a gigolo who would later become another popular television character with a series that would bear its name, Phua Chu Kang, who she later turns down.

At the end of the episode both meet again in the present day, acknowledging their brief encounter.
