Another Plan to improve industry was carried out in 1956 by Nikita Khrushchev, following Stalin's death in 1953.
Some of Khrushchev's policies included nationalization, the Virgin Lands Campaign, creation of a minimum wage alongside overall wage reform and the production of consumer goods which raised the living standards of the Soviet people in return.
