A centuries-old tradition of legal scholarship has made the Netherlands the home of the International Court of Justice ; the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal ; the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia ; the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda ; and the International Criminal Court ( ICC ).

In addition it hosts the European police organization, Europol ; and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
