On 6 November 2006, Numan took part in the Sky1 reality show The Race.

It pitted ten celebrities ( five male, five female ) against each other in a series of Formula One-style car races.

These races were held at Silverstone over the next five days, and varied in racing styles, ultimately culminating in one final Grand Prix race on Sunday, 12 November.

Numan did win on the overall leaderboard, though he lost the final race to AC / DC lead singer Brian Johnson.
