In 2011 the Djedi Project team used a Micro snake camera ( that can see around corners ) to penetrate the first door of the northern shaft, and view all the sides of the small chamber behind it.
( The National Geographic Society used a camera that was only able to look straight forward.
) They discovered hieroglyphs written in red paint.
They were also able to scrutinize the inside of the two copper “ handles ” embedded in the door, and they now believe them to be of an ornamental nature.
They also found the reverse side of the “ door ” to be finished and polished, which suggests that it wasn ’ t put there just to block the shaft, but rather for a more specific reason.
