Seconds ( 1966 ) tells of an elderly man John Randolph given the body of a young man Rock Hudson through experimental surgery.

It was poorly received on its release but has come to be one of the director's most respected and popular films subsequently.

The film is an expressionistic, part-horror, part-thriller, part-science fiction film about the obsession with eternal youth and misplaced faith in the ability of medical science to achieve it.
