She has also written several non-fiction books of practical advice geared toward readers who, like Kidd and Card, are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
These include titles such as Ward Activities for the Clueless, Food Storage for the Clueless, On My Own and Clueless: An LDS Guide to Independent Life, A Convert's Guide to Mormon Life, and A Parent's Survival Guide to the Internet.
Kidd co-wrote many of these books with her husband, Clark L. Kidd.
Kathryn and Clark have also co-authored a large number of magazine articles in the Latter-day Saint magazine, Meridian.
