On 17 March 1966, Moon secretly married his pregnant girlfriend Kim Kerrigan.
Their daughter Amanda was born on 12 July 1966.
From 1971 to 1975, Moon owned Tara, a home in Chertsey, where he lived with his wife and daughter.
The Moons maintained an extravagant social life at that house.
A darker side to Moon's behaviour, tentatively diagnosed as caused by a borderline personality disorder in Fletcher's biography, resulted in the eruption of physical violence towards Kerrigan.
Moon loved Amanda, but was not emotionally prepared to be a father, and this translated to an uneasy relationship with her as a very young girl.
In 1973, Kerrigan left Moon, taking Mandy with her to live with Kerrigan's lover, Faces keyboard player Ian McLagan.
Infuriated at Kerrigan's departure, Moon allegedly offered to pay someone to break McLagan's fingers.
Kerrigan divorced Moon in 1975
