As our understanding of the brain and learning develop we should expect that the educational theory debate will gradually be replaced by a neuroscience-based theory of learning.

We are in a similar position to the one found in medicine in the mid-19th century where a range of opinions and theories vied for position.

These were gradually replaced by the current bio-medical model and became the foundation of the professionalism and progress of medicine since then.
