Page "Long Beach Township, New Jersey" Paragraph 1

Long Beach Township was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 23, 1899, from portions of Eagleswood Township, Little Egg Harbor Township, Ocean Township, Stafford Township, Union Township ( now Barnegat Township ).

Portions of the township were taken to form Barnegat City ( March 29, 1904, now Barnegat Light ) and Ship Bottom-Beach Arlington ( March 3, 1925, now Ship Bottom ).
