The largest loyalty program in Australia is flybuys, established in 1994 and owned by Coles.

It has more than 10 million cardholders in over 5. 5 million Australian households.

In a survey conducted by Monash University in December 2009, flybuys was ranked as " most worthwhile joining " among major Australian loyalty programs.

Rival retailer Woolworths launched its Everyday Rewards fuel discount card nationally in 2009 and by August 2010 had 5. 1 million cardholders, with 2. 7 million linked to the Qantas frequent flyer program.
