The largest loyalty program in Germany is Payback, which was launched in 2000.
According to a study in August 2007 by GfK, 61 % of German households have a Payback card.
It listed the HappyDigits program as having a 42 % share, with the Shell ClubSmart program as third most popular with 13 %.
