The city of Lviv is crossed by one of the longest land integer meridians 24 ° of East longitude in the Eastern Hemisphere ( East of Greenwich ).
According to calculations conducted by Dr. Hirnyj, this meridian crosses 3263 km of European, 7346 km of African and 2185 km of Antarctic ice-covered land including islands, which sums up to 12794 km.
This is only 241 km shorter than the extent of land crossed by the longest land integer meridian 22 ° of East longitude.
The integer meridians 22 ° to 28 ° ( inclusive ) of East longitude constitute the group of seven longest integer meridians covered with land by more than 63 %.
