In 1998, Michael returned to Scotland to study BA English Studies with Expressive Arts at University of Stirling.

He graduated with an MA in Post colonial black British Writing and DipEd ( QTS ) English and Drama in 2002.

He further studied a licentiate Diploma in Acting and Perfomance ( Musical theatre ) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland ( then RSAMD ) in Glasgow.

His first teaching post as a teacher of English and Expressive Arts at Jordanhill School Ltd in Glasgow.
