In 2010 a group of parasail operators including ( North Shore Parasail-Kevin Kramer and Daytona Beach Parasail-Matthew Dvorak ) joined the Water Safety Industry Association in an effort to establish best practices and safe operating practices for the parasail industry.
WSIA organized the first parasail operators symposium in January 2011, numerous parasail operators attended, along with various members of the US Coast Guard, FAA and NOAA.
The WSIA has played a major role in developing the ASTM best practices for weather standards for parasailing.
At the 2012 WSIA Summit in Snow board of directors meeting the creation of a parasail committee chaired by Daytona Beach Parasail's president, Matthew Dvorak was created.
This committee has worked diligently with the ASTM in the creation of our first best practice for the parasail industry in the summer of 2012.
