The Constitution of Greece grants the power of pardon to the President of the Republic ( Art.

47, § 1 ).

He / She can pardon, commute or remit punishment imposed by any court, on the proposal of the Minister of Justice and after receiving the opinion ( not the consent necessarily ) of the Pardon Committee.
