In 2005, three years after Fortuyn's death, the Dutch journalist Peter R. de Vries obtained and publicized a secret report of the intelligence department of the Rotterdam police.
Fortuyn and several other members of his party had been the subject of an investigation by the intelligence services.
An anonymous informant claimed that Fortuyn had engaged in sex with Moroccan youths aged between 16 and 21 ; this was legal under Dutch law.
The Ministry of the Interior informed parliament that the report contained factual inaccuracies, and that the trustworthiness of the original source could not be verified.
