After World War II, when the Curzon line proposed in 1919 by the Western Allies as Poland's eastern border war implemented, members of all ethnic groups were transferred to their respective new territories ( Poles to Poland, Ukrainians to Soviet Ukraine ).
The same applied to the former German territories east of Oder-Neisse line, where German citizens were transferred to Germany.
Germans were expelled from areas annexed by the Soviet Union and Poland as well as territories of Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia.
