Another release in connection with the Columbian series was a reprint of the 1888 Special Delivery stamp, now colored orange ( reportedly, to prevent postal clerks from confusing it with the 1 ¢ Columbian ).

After sales of the series ceased, the Special Delivery stamp reappeared in its original blue.
