The city hosts the annual Russell County Free Fair during the last week of July.

Sponsored by local businesses and organizations, the Fair includes a 4-H livestock sale, carnival, live music, and other entertainment.

Other annual events include a Saint Patrick's Day parade, the Independence Day Freedom Fireworks Celebration, Chilifest in September, a Veteran's Day parade, and Weihnachtfest, a Christmas festival held the first Saturday after Thanksgiving.
