In the Scrabble Sprint round, the winner of the Crossword game ( now the " challenger ") faces off against the show's reigning champion.

He / she is given a set of three words.

At the start of each word, the host reveals a set of blanks corresponding to the number of letters in the word, gives a short clue, then starts a timer, which counts up from zero.

Two letters are shown, and the contestant must choose one to place in the word.

There are no Stoppers in this round ; all letters shown are in the word.
