Types of simulated equipment include cranes, mining reclaimers and construction equipment, among many others.

Often the simulation units will include pre-built scenarios by which to teach trainees, as well as the ability to customize new scenarios.

Such equipment simulators are intended to create a safe and cost effective alternative to training on live equipment.
