Real person slash gained popularity with the 1990s rise of boy bands in the pop music industry.
The band Muse had taken some of the heat for this with the invention of BellDom, where they have the drummer ( Dominic Howard ) and the guitarist ( Matt Bellamy, who once declared that " MuseSlash " sounded so interesting that he would definitely check out what it was about ) in a relationship, there are many other forms of Muse Slash but BellDom became the most famous one.
In the Supernatural fandom, slash fans who were uncomfortable with Wincest moved into writing and reading Jsquared / J2 fic ( slash involving the lead actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles ).
This led to the phrase " Supernatural fandom-where RPS is the moral high ground "!.
Though increasingly common, RPS is considered a potential " squick " for slash readers.
In addition, the use of celebrities in fictional, sexual stories remains controversial.
Journals including RPS often include disclaimers that explain their true fictional nature.
