The University College has been selected as a pre-Games training camp for the 2012 Summer Olympics by the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Ireland.

Athletes from the South African and Irish national Olympic teams will be joined at St Mary's by endurance athletes from the Chinese and Japanese Olympic teams in the run up to London 2012.
