According to books published by General Choi Hung Hi in 1965, and Hwang Kee in 1978, Tang Soo Do is one of a number of generic Korean terms for fighting with bare hands and feet.
As such, Tang Soo Do cannot be said to have a founder.
Rather, the name of " Tang Soo Do " was adopted by Hwang Kee, the founder of the Moo Duk Kwan, as a descriptor of the art he promoted.
