Kennedy now centered a line between Howie Meeker and Vic Lynn and they clicked immediately.
These were the line-mates Smythe had been trying to find for Kennedy since 1945.
Kennedy served as the playmaker between the fast skating and goal scoring of Meeker and Lynn.
Meeker had just returned from the war and Lynn had come up from the American league and were hungry to stay in the NHL.
" We were very eager people ", Kennedy recalled.
The line soon acquired the nickname the " KLM " line.
