At intervals of approximately two years the tribal government makes a distribution of excess casino earnings to the adult tribal membership.

In the past, this distribution has been $ 2, 000 per adult.

In addition, there is a one-time monetary distribution to each Tohono O ' odham upon reaching 18 years of age.

The one-time distribution ( called " the Thou " from the fact that at one point it was one thousand dollars ) is presently $ 2, 000 and is from the United States government in satisfaction of treaty obligations with the tribe.
