The American Ultimate Disc League ( AUDL ) is the only professional level ultimate league in the United States.
It was founded by Josh Moore, and its inaugural season began in April, 2012.
The league currently consists of eight teams and is set up in a two division format.
Each team will play a total of 16 regular season games on Saturdays and Sundays during the months of April, May, June, and July.
Divisional championships will be played in the end of July and will culminate with a championship game on August 11th at the Silverdome in Pontiac, MI.
Player salaries are determined on a team by team basis.
Generally, every player's travel and expenses will be covered by the team in addition to any additional salary the team may provide.
The team funding comes similar to other professional sports: sales of tickets, merchandise, concessions and sponsorship.
