A report given by the police to the Whitchurch Town Council on 4 April 2011 stated, " We have also asked shops in Whitchurch not to sell ‘ Kick, Red Bull or any other stimulation drinks to youths under 16 on Friday evenings ".

The story was picked up by local media and later, national media.

The police request came after meetings with the Whitchurch Youth Project and an assembly at Testbourne school, in a bid to reduce anti-social behaviour.
