At mile marker 71, Pennsylvania Route 33 intersects with I-78 at a trumpet interchange.

Route 33 traverses the Pocono Mountains and goes to Bangor and Interstate 80.

The route continues through Glendola, and Brighton Avenue ( southbound Interchanges 7A and 7B ),. The freeway continues south of the Shark River Golf Course, through Neptune, paralleling Brighton Avenue, and interchanges with Route 33, and County Route 17 at Exit 8.

The route is a four-lane divided highway between its southern terminus and the north end of the Route 33 concurrency in Howell Township ; along this stretch, the route intersects the Garden State Parkway and Interstate 195 / Route 138 within a short distance of each other.

North of Route 33, Route 34 is an undivided two-to four-lane road that intersects Route 18 in Colts Neck Township and Route 79 in Matawan.

Route 34 continues through wooded commercial areas before it intersects Route 33 and County Route 547 at the Collingwood Circle.

At the traffic circle, Route 34 turns northwest to form a concurrency with Route 33 on a four-lane divided highway with a speed limit of that passes businesses, crossing into Howell Township.

By 1969, Route 34 was widened into a divided highway as far north as Route 33.

Orange County, Lake County and Osceola County share a common border that is located at the intersection of the westbound lane of Route 192 near Bali Boulevard ; Lake County, Osceola County and Polk County share a common border across the street, about 15 yards away, at the eastbound lane of Route 192 near Bali Boulevard.

The route crosses the Raritan Valley Line before turning northeast on a one-way pair, with eastbound Route 28 following Fifth Street and westbound Route 28 following Fourth Street.

It intersects the eastbound direction of Route 184, the former alignment of Route 440, before meeting Route 440 ( also an unsigned part of County Route 501 ) at an interchange.

U. S. Route 183 runs from Kiowa County in the South to Kinsley, where it joins eastbound U. S. 56, running as a single highway to Pawnee County.

The route has an interchange with Route 3, with access to eastbound Route 3 and U. S. Route 1 / 9 for traffic in the eastbound direction and to westbound Route 3 in the westbound direction.

Past this interchange, Route 495 becomes a six-lane, freeway maintained by the New Jersey Department of Transportation that intersects U. S. Route 1 / 9 at a partial interchange, with a westbound exit and eastbound entrance.

There is an eastbound exit and westbound entrance for Park Avenue, which provides access to Weehawken and Hoboken, where Route 495 becomes a freeway maintained by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The route has a westbound exit for County Route 677 ( John F. Kennedy / Hudson Boulevard East ) and another exit for Boulevard East with a westbound exit and eastbound entrance.

Route 4 features a right-in / right-out in the eastbound direction that provides access to County Route 507.
