Apollonius's genius reaches its highest heights in Book v. Here he treats of normals as minimum and maximum straight lines drawn from given points to the curve ( independently of tangent properties ); discusses how many normals can be drawn from particular points ; finds their feet by construction ; and gives propositions that both determine the center of curvature at any point and lead at once to the Cartesian equation of the evolute of any conic.

Dharma-dharmatā-vibhāga ( Distinguishing Phenomena and Pure Being ) is a short Yogācāra work, attributed to Maitreya-nātha, which discusses the distinction and correlation ( vibhāga ) between phenomena ( dharma ) and reality ( dharmatā ); the work exists in both a prose and a verse version and survives only in Tibetan translation.

The texts Bodkin discusses in Archetypal Patterns in Poetry include those of Virgil, Dante, Shakespeare, Milton, and Coleridge ( Hooke 1935: 176 ; Boswell 1936: 553 ; Willcock 1936: 91 ); Goethe and Euripides ( Boswell 1936: 553 ); and Aeschylus, Shelley, T. S. Eliot, as well as the Christian Gospels ( Hooke 1935: 177 ).
