He then teams up with the Human Torch for the first time.

He is also close friends with the Human Torch as their personalities complement each other and their respective powers are polar opposites.

Timely's first publication, Marvel Comics # 1 ( cover dated Oct. 1939 ), included the first appearance of Carl Burgos ' android superhero the Human Torch, and the first generally available appearance of Bill Everett's anti-hero Namor the Sub-Mariner, among other features.

This was not the first time that Marvel's characters had interacted with one another — Namor the Sub-Mariner and the Original Human Torch had been rivals in Marvel's " Golden Age "— but it was the first time that the comic book publisher's characters seemed to share a world.

One of the series ' main characters, Firestar was created specifically for this series when the Human Torch was unavailable ( due to licensing issues ).

Since then, in Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, Spidey, Iceman, and the Human Torch have begun living together at Aunt May's house and have been working as a team as another homage to the series ( because Liz, as Firestar, was a member of the X-Men in this continuity ).

When the Fantastic Four returned to Earth without the Thing, she began a relationship with the Human Torch.

Eventually some of the inhabitants have children who inherit some of their powers ; Bravado is the son of Thor and Enchantress, Chokehold is the daughter of Absorbing Man and Titania, Crusader is the daughter of Captain America and Rogue ( although Rogue's body is now dominated by the personality of Ms. Marvel ), Firefly is the son of Human Torch and Wasp, Gator is the son of Lizard, Malefactor is the son of Doctor Doom and Enchantress, Moleculon is the son of Molecule Man and Volcana, Mustang is the son of Hawkeye and She-Hulk, Raze is the son of Wrecker, and Torrent is the daughter of Wolverine and Storm.

Silver Age ( Marvel Comics mostly got around the teen sidekick quandary by creating a selection of super-powered teenagers — heroes in their own right, such as Spider-Man, the second Human Torch, and the X-Men.

He is a parody of Human Torch.

Post-Ultimatum, Aunt May has turned her home into a teen shelter of sorts for superhumans without a home, including Bobby Drake ( Iceman ), Kitty Pryde ( Shadowcat ), and Johnny Storm ( Human Torch ).

Between early 1939 and late 1941, DC and sister company All-American Publications introduced such popular superheroes as Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, the Atom, Hawkman, and Aquaman, while Timely Comics, the 1940s predecessor of Marvel Comics, had million-selling titles that featured the Human Torch, the Sub-Mariner, and Captain America.

In The Science of Stephen King, authors Gresh and Weinberg argue that this is " vaguely possible ", but characterize it as " generally the stuff of comic books ", such as Marvel Comics ' Human Torch and Pyro.

The Vision had a complicated history, being born of the dead android body of the original Human Torch, and the mind of the dead human Wonder Man, not to mention being programmed to be a killing machine by the armageddon-happy sentient robot Ultron, who in his turn had been inadvertently created by scientist Henry Pym, originally as a lab assistant.

IGN ranked the Human Torch as the 46th greatest comic book hero, stating that even though the youngest member of the Fantastic Four routinely basked in the glory of his celebrity status, he also proved himself in his many adventures with both the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man.
