Neues and Theater
The Neues Theater ( New Theatre ) is the Boulevard Theatre of Hanover.
For example Peter Sodann founded the Neues Theater in Halle / Saale and Frank Castorf worked at a theatre in Anklam.
The operetta toured Austria and in 1906 enjoyed productions in Hamburg's Neues Operetten-Theater, Berlin's Berliner Theater ( starring Gustav Matzner as Danilo and Marie Ottmann as Hanna, who made the first complete recording in 1907 ), and Budapest's Magyar Szinhaz.
The previous theater ( the " Neues Theater ") was inaugurated on January 28, 1868, with Jubilee Overture by Carl Maria von Weber and the overture for Iphigénie en Aulide by Gluck and Goethe's play Iphigenia in Tauris.
The piece premiered in Berlin on 3 October 1883 in the Neues Friedrich Wilhelmstadisches Theater, and it is the only one of the operettas of Johann Strauss II ever to be premiered outside Vienna.
He moved a significant number of Renaissance style sculptures from the Neues Lusthaus in Stuttgart to Lichtenstein Castle when the Lusthaus was to be demolished in 1844, to make room for the Royal Court Theater.
