Another element of dispute is the doctrine of the Three Treasures, with the treasure of the Priest seen by SGI as the Treasure of Sangha or Community of Believers.

The main differences in beliefs of both sides center on: The doctrine of Heritage of the Law: attributed by the Priesthood to " one person " the High Priest while attributed by the Sōka Gakkai to ordinary people, The Priesthood's demand for " Absolute faith and Strict Obedience " to the High Priest a demand contrasted with SGI definition of related relationship: " mentor and disciple are comrades standing side by side ”, and also: The doctrine of the Three Treasures, in which the Treasure of the Priest is taught by the Sōka Gakkai as the Sangha or " Community of Believers ", while it is restricted solely to the Priest, by Nichiren Shōshū administration.

As he still repeatedly contravened the doctrines, the Thai Sangha ( Community of Thai monks ) requested the Supreme Sangha Council ( SSC ) to look into the case.

As the Court has decided that ... no legal provision allows a Thai monk to refuse to be subject to the Sangha Act, BE 2505 ( 1962 ), the declaration of the 80th Defendant and his followers to secede from the administration of the Supreme Sangha Council and not to observe the said Act therefore brings about a schism amongst the Buddhist Community.
