Hal Linden ( born March 20, 1931 ) is an American stage and television actor and television director, best known for his role in the television comedy series Barney Miller and as presenter on the ABC educational series Animals, Animals, Animals.

The series includes several animated and live-action programmes such as Alvin and the Chipmunks, Captain N: The Game Master, Maxie's World, Top Banana, Dink, the Little Dinosaur, Animals in Action, The New Archies, Super Mario Bros, Captain Planet and the Planeteers and the live-action comedy series The Charmings.

This led to the village being featured in a sketch on the satirical ITV comedy Spitting Image in which ' government advisors ' wanted to put such sites in places like "... Killing Homes, Killing Animals, Killing People ".

Animals sacred to Apollo included wolves, dolphins, roe deer, swans, cicadas ( symbolizing music and song ), hawks, ravens, crows, snakes ( referencing Apollo's function as the god of prophecy ), mice and griffins, mythical eagle – lion hybrids of Eastern origin.

On the Nature of Animals, (" On the Characteristics of Animals " is an alternative title ; usually cited, though, by its Latin title ), is a curious collection, in 17 books, of brief stories of natural history, sometimes selected with an eye to conveying allegorical moral lessons, sometimes because they are just so astonishing:

Animals that live in the region include brown hyenas, lions, meerkats, giraffes, warthogs, jackals, several species of antelope ( including the eland, gemsbok, springbok, hartebeest, steenbok, kudu, and duiker ), and many species of birds and reptiles.

In succeeding years, he gave series of lectures on “ Ichthyology ” ( 1847 – 48 season ), “ Comparative Embryology ” ( 1848 – 49 ), “ Functions of Life in Lower Animals ” ( 1850 – 51 ), “ Natural History ” ( 1853 – 54 ), “ Methods of Study in Natural History ” ( 1861 – 62 ), “ Glaciers and the Ice Period ” ( 1864 – 65 ), “ Brazil ” ( 1866 – 67 ) and “ Deep Sea Dredging ” ( 1869 – 70 ).

Some mustelids have been domesticated: the ferret and the tayra are kept as pets ( although the tayra requires a Dangerous Wild Animals licence in the UK ), or as working animals for hunting or vermin control.

Animals are eukaryotic and usually multicellular ( although see Myxozoa ), which separates them from bacteria, archaea and most protists.

In Episode 4 (" Animals ") of the British sitcom Men Behaving Badly, Series 1, Dermot ( played by Harry Enfield ) says to Gary ( played by Martin Clunes ), " There she was, just standing there, making Michelle Pfeiffer look like Neil Kinnock.

Existing " British Invasion " acts now joined the psychedelic revolution, including Eric Burdon ( previously of The Animals ), and The Small Faces and The Who whose The Who Sell Out ( 1967 ) included psychedelic influenced tracks " I Can See for Miles " and " Armenia City in the Sky ".

Animals That Swim are a musical group who formed in London, England, 1989, with a line-up of stand-up drums, piano, trumpet and " a nifty line in clever narrative lyrics ".

The show featured racier material, such as the song Let's Talk Dirty to the Animals.

Stonehill closed the show by joining The Swirling Eddies onstage for some covers of The Beatles ' I Want to Hold Your Hand, The Animals We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, and Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World.

** Eric Burdon records a solo album after leaving The Animals and appears on the show " Ready, Steady, Go ", singing " Help Me Girl ", a UK # 14 solo hit.

In 2005, presenter Reggie Yates announced on the show that it was Super Furry Animals with " Do or Die ", broadcast on 28 January 2000, clocking in at 95 seconds.

The name ' Baby Animals ' came about after seeing an advertisement for a local TV show, Wheel of Fortune, hosted by ' Baby John Burgess '.

Thrice, accompanied by Animals as Leaders and O ' Brother, began their farewell tour on May 4, 2012 in San Diego and ended it with a 33-song solo show on June 19, 2012 in Santa Ana.
