From the exhbition, van Gogh sells The Red Vineyard to Anna Boch, said to be the only sale of his work during his lifetime.

The Red Vineyard was exhibited for the first time at the annual exhibition of Les XX, 1890 in Brussels, and sold for 400 Francs ( equal to about $ 1, 000-1, 050 today ) to Anna Boch, an impressionist painter, member of Les XX and art collector from Belgium ; Anna was the sister of Eugène Boch, another impressionist painter and a friend of Van Gogh, too, who had painted Boch's portrait ( Le Peintre aux Étoiles ) in Arles, in autumn 1888.

Customers for the Minerva would include kings of Belgium, Sweden and Norway, Henry Ford and the Impressionist Artist Anna Boch.

During the 1920s, he assembled an extensive collection including masterpieces by Vincent Van Gogh ( Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear ) or ( Peach Blossom in the Crau ) previously owned by Anna Boch, Édouard Manet ( A Bar at the Folies-Bergère ), Paul Cézanne ( Montagne Sainte-Victoire ) and Pierre-Auguste Renoir ( La Loge ).

Together with Henry Van de Velde, Georges Lemmen, Xavier Mellery, Willy Schlobach and Alfred William Finch and Anna Boch he " imported " this style to Belgium.

While staying in summer 1887 a few weeks with Eugène Boch ( brother of Anna Boch ) in Batignolles, near Paris, he met several painters from the Parisian scene such as Sisley, Signac, Degas and especially Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

That is where Van Gogh sold Vigne Rouge in Montmajour to Anna Boch, the only painting he ever sold.

Anna Rosalie Boch ( 10 February 1848 – 25 February 1936 ) was a Belgian painter, born in Saint-Vaast, Hainaut.

Anna Boch died in Ixelles in 1936 and is interred there in the Ixelles Cemetery, Brussels, Belgium.

The Vigne Rouge ( The Red Vineyard ), purchased by Anna Boch, was long believed to be the only painting Van Gogh sold during his lifetime.

The Anna Boch collection was sold after her death.

On 18 April 1912, van Meegeren married a fellow art student, Anna de Voogt, who was expecting their first child.

By all accounts, infidelity was responsible for the breakup of van Meegeren ’ s marriage to Anna de Voogt ; they were divorced on 19 July 1923.

Anna left with the children and moved to Paris, where from time to time, van Meegeren would visit his children.

Maria of Nassau ( 1556 – 1616 ), was a full sister of Philip William from the first marriage of William I, Prince of Orange, ( assassinated 1584 ), to wealthy and powerful aristocrat Anna van Egmont, ( 1533 – 1558 ), and a furious contender to Maurice of Nassau.
