Another significant, and rather younger, painter who worked in Southern France, Barthélemy van Eyck, is presumed to be a relation.
It may represent drawings by Barthélemy d ' Eyck, intended as preparatory only, which were later illuminated by him or another artist.
He may have learnt these techniques from the Flemish artist Barthélemy d ' Eyck — a putative relative of Jan van Eyckwho seems to have been in Naples around 1440.
