On the National Geographic Channel television program, " Dangerous Encounters with Brady Barr ", Dr. Brady Barr measured the bite force of an adult female hippo at 8100 N ( 1821 lbf ); Barr also attempted to measure the bite pressure of an adult male hippo, but had to abandon the attempt due to the male's aggressiveness.

Together with his wife, Sarah, who served as Chair of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, formerly known as Handgun Control, Inc., co-founded by N. T.

In the United States, photographs tracing the progress of the American Civil War by photographers for at least three consortia of photographic publisher-distributors, most notably Mathew Brady and Alexander Gardner, resulted in a major archive of photographs ranging from dry records of battle sites to harrowing images of the dead by Timothy O ' Sullivan and evocative images by George N. Barnard.

They " were kicked about from pillar to post " for ten years, until John C. Taylor found them in an attic and bought them ; from this they became " the backbone of the Ordway-Rand collection ; and in 1895 Brady himself had no idea of what had become of them.
