The images, scanned from photographic prints, glass negatives and rare publications, visually document the communities of Cle Elum, Roslyn and other towns and villages in western Kittitas County.

All schools and administrative buildings ( except Swiftwater Learning Center and the Transportation Department ) are located on SR 903 in the Cle Elum UGA.

Cle Elum Medical Center ( formerly Cle Elum Family Medicine Center ) underwent an almost $ 1, 000, 000 renovation and expansion in June 2007.

At that time Cle Elum became the last in the telephone company's service area to be changed over from manual phone service to automatic dialing.

A local newspaper, The Cle Elum Echo reported, " The city of Roslyn is situated on land directly over the tunnel of Mine No. 4, and the shock caused by the explosion was not unlike an earthquake, shaking buildings in all parts of the city, while the burning, oil soaked timbers, vomited out of the shaft, were scattered in all directions, falling upon shingled roofs and causing over twenty roof fires, which were controlled by bucket brigades, all the city water and the fire department being concentrated upon the shaft and abutting frame structures, in spite of this all frame structures within two hundred feet of the shaft and tipple No. 4 were entirely destroyed.

The following day, several men from the group were seen at the Northern Pacific Railway depot in Cle Elum where the money to meet the payroll for the Roslyn miners was transferred to the train to Roslyn.

It was built in 1887 and continues to serve the local community with regular masses held every Sunday ( administered by St. John the Baptist parish in nearby Cle Elum ).

Cle Newhook replaced Fenwick as party leader and the NDP was once again left without representation after the 1989 election when both ridings they had held were won by Progressive Conservatives.

A Northern Pacific Railway station at the future site of the city of Cle Elum was named Clealum after the Kittitas name Tie-el-Lum, meaning " swift water ", referring to the Cle Elum River.

In 1908, Clealum was altered to Cle Elum.

Shortly thereafter, the F. M. Thorp and Charles Splawn families were joined by their friend Walter J. Reed, the second settler in the Kittitas Valley, who later established the community of Cle Elum.

This marvelous 1914 mansion, with its spacious rooms, tiny alcoves and third-floor ballroom, holds the story of Cle Elum's first successful banker and his family.

* Coal Miner Trail – Originating in nearby Cle Elum, Washington, this hiking and recreational trail passes through Roslyn before ending in the town of Ronald.

* Nearby Lake Cle Elum & Salmon La Sac – Lake Cle Elum is a popular year-round recreational destination for camping, hiking, cross country skiing, snomobiling, boating and wilderness activities.

Salmon La Sac is a natural area along the Cle Elum River used for kayak races and serves as an access point to the nearby wilderness and backcountry.

Lake Cle Elum near Roslyn is a year-round recreational destination.

The town of Thorp is 99. 36 miles east of Seattle, Washington, 9. 29 miles northwest of Ellensburg, and 15. 21 miles southeast of Cle Elum (, ).

* Telephone Museum of Gridley — A museum in central Gridley dedicated to the early history of telecommunication in rural Illinois.

Associated with those events in the present day are the Bell Family's museum home on Tutela Heights Road, now called the Bell Homestead National Historic Site, and the Bell Telephone Memorial ( below ), dedicated by the Governor General of Canada in 1917 to mark the invention of the telephone in Brantford.
