Marshall Lytle ( born September 1, 1933, Old Fort, North Carolina ), who also goes by the name Tommy Page, is an American rock and roll musician, best known for his work with the groups Bill Haley & His Comets and The Jodimars in the 1950s.

Holly's transition to rock continued when he opened for Bill Haley & His Comets at a local show organized by Eddie Crandall, the manager for Marty Robbins.

During the Labor Day weekend in 1952, The Saddlemen were renamed Bill Haley with Haley's Comets ( inspired by a popular mispronunciation of Halley's Comet ), and in 1953, Haley's recording of " Crazy Man, Crazy " ( co-written by Haley and his bass player, Marshall Lytle although Lytle would not receive credit until 2001 ) became the first rock and roll song to hit the American charts, peaking at no. 15 on Billboard and no. 11 on Cash Box.

He also has occasionally appeared with the " Original Comets " at the Bubba Mac Shack in Somers Point, New Jersey from 2004-2011, and at the Twin Bar re-dedication ceremony in Gloucester City, New Jersey, in 2007.

Comets visible to the naked eye are fairly infrequent, but comets that put on fine displays in amateur class telescopes ( 50 mm to 100 cm ) occur fairly often — as often as several times a year, occasionally with more than one in the sky at the same time.

Haley and his Comets began performing the song on stage ( Comets bass player Marshall Lytle and drummer Dick Richards say the first performances were in Wildwood, New Jersey at Phil and Eddie's Surf Club ), but Dave Miller, his producer, refused to allow Haley to record it for his Essex Records label ( Swenson suggests a feud existed between Myers and Miller ).

This is due to the inclusion of a " count-in " by one of the Comets ( saying, " One ... two ") at the very start of the song.

These events included numerous appearances and performances by surviving members of the original Comets, including the band's induction into the Rock Walk hall of fame, a performance at the Viper Room club on the Sunset Strip, and a special performance for employees of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena to celebrate the success of the Deep Impact space probe.

An almost completely new group of musicians, mostly British-including Pete Thomas ( saxophonist )-were assembled to perform as The Comets, and Haley appeared on many television shows as well as in the movie Blue Suede Shoes, filmed at one of his London concerts in March 1979.

During a July 6, 2005 concert at the Viper Room in West Hollywood, The Comets were joined on stage for one song by Gina Haley, the youngest daughter of Bill Haley ; at a similar appearance in March they were joined by Haley's eldest son, John W. Haley.

In 2006, The 1954 – 55 Comets spent much of the year in residence at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theater in Branson, Missouri.

Foreign artists who have performed at Liseberg include Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Cliff Richard, Nightwish, Delta Rhythm Boys, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cat Stevens, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, The Who, PJ Proby, Frank Zappa with The Mothers Of Invention, Bill Haley & His Comets, Procul Harum and Toto, among others.

All Comet 1 aircraft were grounded in April 1954 after four Comets crashed, the last two being BOAC aircraft at altitude.

The Comets played their final home game on September 15, 2008 at the Strahan Coliseum on the campus of Texas State due to Hurricane Ike.

With team leader Tari Phillips being signed to the Houston Comets, Ann Wauters emerged as a force at the team's starting center position in 2005.

During that period, the airport scene at Berlin Tegel could be very colourful, with Air France Caravelles, the UK independents ' BAC One-Elevens, de Havilland Comets and Hawker Siddeley Tridents as well as the US supplementals ' Boeing 707s, Convair Coronados and Douglas DC-8s congregating on its ramp.

Haley was born in 1925 and " Rock Around the Clock " made the scene in 1955 and at that time he and his band were using the name the Comets.

In 1966, at a time when Turner's career was at a low ebb, Haley arranged for his Comets to back the elder musician for a series of recordings in Mexico, although apparently Haley and Turner did not record a duet version of " Shake Rattle and Roll ".

A theory holds that the ancient symbol of the swastika appeared in a variety of cultures across the world at a similar time, and could have been inspired by the appearance of a comet from head on, as the curved jets would be reminiscent of the swastika shape ( see Comets and the swastika motif ).

Comets are believed to have two separate points of origin in the Solar System.

Comets entering the inner Solar System for the first time may brighten rapidly before fading as they near the Sun, as a layer of highly volatile material evaporates.

Per a News article on Page # 9 of the October 1984 issue of Acorn User, the Plus 3 was originally destined to have used the Intel 8272 disk controller, ( and not 8271, which were in short supply at the time ).

The armed car was invented by Royal Page Davidson at Northwestern Military and Naval Academy in 1898 with the Davidson-Duryea gun carriage and the later Davidson Automobile Battery armored car.

He became a favorite actor of director Billy Wilder, starring in his films Some Like It Hot ( for which he was awarded Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival ), The Apartment, Irma la Douce, The Fortune Cookie, Avanti !, The Front Page, and Buddy Buddy.

On December 7, 2011 Kid Rock joined Metallica on-stage at The Fillmore San Francisco during the 30 Years of Metallica celebration ( Day 2 ) to perform Seger's " Turn the Page ".

When Dreja dropped out of the project to become a photographer ( he would later take the photograph that appeared on the back of Led Zeppelin's debut album ), John Paul Jones, at the suggestion of his wife, contacted Page about the vacant position.

On 13 July 1985, Page, Plant and Jones reunited for the Live Aid concert at JFK Stadium, Philadelphia, playing a short set featuring drummers Tony Thompson and Phil Collins and bassist Paul Martinez.

He was in time for the bombing of Germany, serving on the Handley Page Halifax with No. 76 Squadron RAF, initially at RAF Breighton and then at RAF Holme-on-Spalding Moor.
