In the late afternoon of July 2, Lee launched a heavy assault on the Union left flank, and fierce fighting raged at Little Round Top, the Wheatfield, Devil's Den, and the Peach Orchard.

Of those, one of the most well known was the Texas Brigade, made up of the 1st, 4th, and 5th Texas, and the 3rd Arkansas, which distinguished themselves in numerous battles, perhaps most notably during their fight for the Devil's Den at the Battle of Gettysburg.

The rural areas later became the Ozark National Forest and Devil's Den State Park.

Devil's Den State Park in southern Washington County is known for its picturesque views and mountain vistas.

Past the communities of Greenland and West Fork is Devil's Den State Park.

Winslow is west of Devil's Den State Park along Arkansas Highway 74.

Most of Devil's Den Preserve, a nature reserve, which gets 40, 000 visits a year, is located in the town.

Devil's Den is a small cave east of Massabesic Lake.

Sawa continued steadily in recent years by appearing in several independent films including Extreme Dating, Shooting Gallery, Devil's Den, Creature Of Darkness, Endure, 388 Arletta Avenue, and The Sibling.

Hood was dissatisfied with his assignment in the assault because it would face difficult terrain in the boulder-strewn area known as the Devil's Den.

There, on July 2, 1863, Benning led his brigade in a furious assault against the Union position in the Devil's Den, driving out the defenders at no small cost to themselves.

During the Gettysburg Campaign, Ward's brigade was assigned on July 2 by Maj. Gen. Daniel Sickles to hold a large area from the Wheatfield Road to Devil's Den.

# " Hold at All Costs " ( 7: 06 ), based on the actions taken on the southern end of the battlefield on July 2, 1863, specifically in the areas of the Wheatfield, Devil's Den, and Little Round Top.

During the Battle of Gettysburg, it was part of the fighting on the Second Day, helping push back Confederate infantry near Devil's Den and the Wheatfield.

The first Starwood was held July 24 – 26, 1981 at Coopers Lake Campground, the same site as the Society for Creative Anachronism's Pennsic War, in Slippery Rock, PA. From 1982 through 1985 it was held at Devil's Den Park in New Philadelphia, OH, a former state park run by Whispering Winds Nudist Camp.

Devil's Hole State Park is located in Niagara County, New York north of the City of Niagara Falls.

The Suir and Nore rise in the same mountainous area in County Tipperary, near the Devil's Bit, while the Barrow rises in the Slieve Blooms Mountains in County Laois.
