The area from South Temple North to 6th Avenue is a Historical District that is nearly entirely residential, and contains many historical Victorian era homes.

Scioto County is home to the Boneyfiddle Historical District ( which is on the National Register of Historic Places ), SSU's Clark Planetarium, the 1810 House, Greenup Locks & Dam, the Philip Moore Stone House, Roy Rogers ' Memorabilia Exhibit, the Southern Ohio Museum and Spartan Municipal Stadium.

Meek Mansion is located there, which is maintained by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, in conjunction with the Hayward Area Historical Society.

Although the town is rich with history ( home to four buildings on the National Registry of Historical Places ) it does not hold the title of a Historical District unlike nearby Oxford and Wake Forest.

Kenton has one public library, the Mary Lou Johnson Hardin County District Library ( http :// www. mljlibrary. org ), and two museums, the Hardin County Historical Museum and the Organette House Mechanical Music Museum.
