The tour resulted in a lifelong friendship between the two bands, with Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson and David Bowie performing " All the Young Dudes " at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992.

They continued their Retox album tour throughout 2008 and 2009, and on 7 August 2008 Turbonegro celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Apocalypse Dudes by performing the entire album at the Øya Festival in Oslo, Norway.

There were plans for a west coast summer 2009 tour, billed as Lance Bangs w / The Dudes.

In October 2006 Th ' Dudes embarked on a tour of New Zealand as part of Radio Hauraki's 40th anniversary celebrations.

In late 2007 Th ' Dudes embarked on the " Summer of Love " tour of popular NZ holiday destinations: Mangawhai ( 28 December 2007 ); Mount Maunganui ( 29 December 2007 ); Coroglen ( 30 December 2007 ); Waihi Beach ( New Year's Eve, 31 December 2007 ); Lake Hawea ( 2 January 2008 ), Riwaka ( 4 January 2008 ); and New Plymouth ( 5 January 2008 ).

As well as performing " Heroes " and " All the Young Dudes ", he was joined on " Under Pressure " by Annie Lennox, who took Mercury's vocal part.

They are popularly known for the song " All the Young Dudes ", written for them by David Bowie and appearing on their 1972 album of the same name.

Mott the Hoople's new found popularity ultimately helped lead to the band's break-up, perhaps helped along by an exposé in New Musical Express of Tippins ' role in singing the chorus of " All the Young Dudes ", from a hidden microphone backstage.

" Rock Steady ", " Bad Company " and " Ready for Love " ( the last originally recorded by guitarist Mick Ralphs during his tenure with Mott the Hoople on All the Young Dudes ) are also " classic rock " radio staples.

Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja, often referred to simply as Bad Dudes, and known in Japan simply as, is a 1988 beat ' em up arcade game developed and published by Data East.

As soon as that occurs, a Secret Service agent asks two street-smart brawlers, the " Bad Dudes " named Blade and Striker: " President Ronnie has been kidnapped by the ninjas.

In the English version, after the Bad Dudes defeat the DragonNinja, they celebrate by eating burgers with President Ronnie.

In North America, the same version was released the same year by Data East USA simply as Bad Dudes.

In Europe, it was released in 1990 by Ocean Software as Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja.

In the 1990 film RoboCop 2, Officer Duffy gets pushed by RoboCop into a Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja arcade cabinet, but with Sly Spy built into it.

Starting off as a covers band that played surf clubs and private parties, Th ' Dudes quickly earned a reputation as an energetic and skilful outfit featuring dual guitar work from Dobbyn and Morris, a tight no-nonsense rhythm section ( Peter Coleman on bass, later replaced by Lez White, and drummer Bruce Hambling ) and charismatic vocalist Urlich.

After Th ' Dudes split in 1980, Urlich headed off to the UK where he was fascinated by the rise of club culture.

DD Smash was a New Zealand pop / rock band formed by Dave Dobbyn after the breakup of Th ' Dudes.

Some tracks were composed using Eno and Peter Schmidt's Oblique Strategies cards: " Boys Keep Swinging " entailed band members swapping instruments, " Move On " used the chords from Bowie's early composition " All the Young Dudes " played backwards, and " Red Money " took backing tracks from " Sister Midnight ", a piece previously composed with Iggy Pop.

During these four years, the band members would rarely speak, however the momentum from their previous albums ( most especially Ass Cobra and Apocalypse Dudes ) would continue to grow as more and more music fans would turn to their music.

Apocalypse Dudes introduced a combination of ' 70s arena rock, irreverent lyrics, and punk stylings which brought the band a level of notoriety that they had not achieved at any other point in their history.

The British alternative rock band Lostprophets ' first release, thefakesoundofprogress, includes a track titled " Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja " in a reference to the video games Shinobi and Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja.

In 1987, the song " Rock & Roll Outlaw " ( a cover from the 1978 self titled debut of Australian hard rock band Rose Tattoo ) appeared on the soundtrack of the movie Dudes.

In 2009, another album, " Chronotorious ", was released by the same band under the name " Bad Dudes " and is praised by most fans as being the best remix album.

All the Young Dudes was a turning point for the then-struggling British band.
